Crown Point Road Association Publications

Home

The Association has published an illustrated guide book complete with fold-out maps and directions to the more than 70 markers which dot the old Crown Point Road from Charlestown, NH to Bridport, VT. This is essentially a driver’s guide designating mileage between markers and a brief history of each location. The book has a spiral binding and contains other useful information about the history of the old military road.

The Association does not recommend the use of the book as a hiking guide. For authenticity it is preferable to join a hike conducted by a knowledgeable CPRA member. These hikes are conducted throughout the summer months and the schedule is outlined on the "Calendar 2006"  page of this website.

Also available is the second edition of the Rev. Samuel MacClintock's Journal, 1760 reprinted and revised by Barbara M.  Jones for the Crown Point Road Association and the Old Fort No. 4 Associates in 2001. Printing of this 62 page paperback booklet was originally implemented by former Historian Emeritus of the Association Flora B. Weeks in 1972. A mystery has surrounded the journal for years and the booklet is a printed transcript of the journal with historical annotations regarding the construction and use of the Crown Point  Road during the period 1754-1763.
